French OTT service Molotov will launch on 11 July.

The platform, which was created by French media veterans Jean David Blanc, Pierre Lescure and Jean-Marc Denoual, will be accessible on all devices.

Both free-to-air and pay-tv content will be available across the service, with users gaining access to over one hundred different television channels, which represents nearly all French broadcasters.

Molotov enables users to access live TV and catch-up from any device. ‘Bookmarking’ – a combination of advance recording function, information and notifications – is available with search functionality possible by programme type, channel, or by director, presenter or actor.

Users can also share their television experiences via social media.

Blanc said, “After months of hard work, user tests and analysis, we are very pleased to offer a new television experience this summer, one that is free and fully focused on what viewers expect from television in the 21st century.

“More than ever, we are convinced that television has an outstanding value proposition, provided it is delivered through the right user experience.”
