Megahertz was acquired by systems integrator OKNO-TV UK in October 2013 and the combined companies will trade under the name of Megahertz Ltd. The brand has now strengthened its technical and commercial expertise with the aim of reaching a more diverse and international market.

The existing management of the newly formed Megahertz Ltd will be based in the UK under the leadership of managing director, Jon Flay (pictured). Igor Orlov has been appointed as managing partner, responsible for expanding the Megahertz brand in the CIS region. Orlov’s broadcast career has included senior appointments with Sony and Russian state broadcaster RTR.

“Megahertz has a remarkable reputation worldwide for the quality of work in both mobile and fixed installations,” commented Flay. “OKNO-TV provides us with the financial and commercial stability, drawing on its remarkable reputation. Together, the rejuvenated Megahertz has new horizons and new strengths, alongside our existing depth of skills that seek to deliver the most innovative engineering solutions and value for our clients. This is a great day for all of us.”

Megahertz was responsible for the new BT Sport studio built in 2013 on the London Olympic Park site, operated by the UK’s newest sports broadcaster. Further global expansion for the company includes the creation of a file-based facility at e.TV in South Africa and a second Megahertz-constructed outside broadcast truck for Astro in Malaysia.
