MEDIAGENIX announces senior appointments

Filip Descamps succeeds Dirk Debraekeleer as the new CEO of the Belgian company

MEDIAGENIX has announced the appointment of both a new CEO and a new managing director of EMEA.

Filip Descamps succeeds Dirk Debraekeleer as the new CEO of the Belgian company. Descamps worked at Microsoft for 16 years, where he gained experience particularly in sales and sales management. He’s also held a number of international management positions.

Jef Vandecruys has also joined MEDIAGENIX as managing director of the EMEA region. He was part of the launch of Belgacom TV in 2005, before moving on to Anheuser-Busch InBev for seven years as global director for digital marketing. For the past five years, Vandecruys has been COO at Zappware, a company that specialises in solutions for digital TV services.

Dirk Debraekeleer will work with Descamps during the transition period, acting as co-CEO, before assuming the role of executive chairman of the Board, where he will focus on the strategy to strengthen the position of MEDIAGENIX as a global tech vendor.

MEDIAGENIX’s WHATS’ON solution is used by the likes of Disney, Viacom, BBC, UKTV, Medialaan, VRT, and RTBF, to manage their content distribution.

“Our growth is not just based on the number of clients we have. Our internal growth has been significant in recent years. MEDIAGENIX has already recruited 50 employees to keep pace with our international growth, and our team has doubled in less than five years. The figure now stands at more than 200 employees and a total of 25 nationalities,” says Dirk Debraekeleer.
