Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Dutch telecoms operator KPN, is expected to be named the new head of Sky Italia according to reports.
According to Bloomberg, KPN has announced Ibarra’s resignation, his final day with the company will be 30th September. Meanwhile, his new appointment could be confirmed as early as today.
In a statement, KPN said Ibarra will step down for “pressing family reasons” and that he’s moving back to Italy to take up a new executive position.
“I regret the timing, but family reasons gave me no choice. I will dedicate myself the coming months to secure a seamless transfer to my successor,” Ibarra added in the statement.
Sky has not commented on the report.
