The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) has signed up more than 20 manufacturers to its new Compliance Programme. The Programme is being created with the aim of helping the industry identify trusted products for DPP standards across the UK, and to speed up the implementation of the digital delivery programme, by ensuring files are DPP AS-11 compliant.
The DPP is now in the final stages of securing key international manufacturers. The manufacturers will provide details of completed tests, sample files produced, and evidence of the results obtained on file delivery or processing products that are in development or being marketed.
The Programme aims to establish a minimum quality threshold of tests that manufacturers’ products need to meet. Should products meet the criteria, the DPP is collaborating with the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) to develop a certification scheme which would enable the use of the AMWA and DPP brands on manufacturers’ products and in marketing.
“It is great to have had such a positive response to the programme from manufacturers,” commented Kevin Burrows (pictured), DPP technical standards lead and CTO broadcast and distribution, Channel 4. “We are delighted that the DPP’s standards and guidelines are so valued that companies are choosing to work with us. Thanks to their engagement we have already made significant progress in establishing minimum compliance criteria, which we hope to publish soon.”
