Keith Underwood steps down as Channel 4 COO

Move comes as part of executive reshuffle

Keith Underwood has announced he is stepping down as Channel 4 COO, with current CCO Jonathan Allan stepping in to the role.

The move comes as part of an executive reshuffle that also sees finance director Vince Russell taking on additional responsibilities for leading Workspace.

Sarah Rose will also be leaving Channel 4 after the summer, while current head of agency and client sales, Matt Salmon, will step up to the executive team as interim director of sales.

Underwood’s eight years at the broadcaster included leading the launch of All 4, transforming digital development capabilities and rebuilding and repositioning the finance function.

Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon said: “Keith has made a huge contribution to the success of Channel 4 over the past 10 years and I’d like to wish him all the best for whatever new challenge he decides to take on next.

“I’d also like to thank Sarah Rose for the important role she has played in so many different areas of Channel 4’s business and I’m pleased to be continuing to work with her on our strategic partnerships strategy this year.”
