ITV, Virgin Media agree new carriage deal

Details of the new agreement have not been announced

ITV and Virgin Media have agreed a new carriage deal, ensuring ITV’s channels will remain on the pay-TV service for the next three years.

Reports had suggested ITV’s suite of channels could disappear if the two companies failed to reach an agreement.

ITV argued it should be paid retransmission fees for its flagship network, while Virgin Media said it shouldn’t pay more for a public service broadcasting network.

“This exciting new commercial partnership has many benefits for both our businesses and for consumers,” said ITV CEO Carolyn McCall about the new deal.
