ITV makes key appointments across data division

Four newly created positions have been filled as part of the broadcaster's drive to transform its data and AI strategy

ITV has announced appointments in four newly created leadership positions that it says will serve to strengthen the broadcaster’s capabilities and prominence across talent, technology and process as it continues to transform its data and AI strategy.

Lara Izlan has been promoted to director of data strategy and will be responsible for developing and delivering data and AI value use cases across the business. Clemence Burnichon becomes director of data innovation, responsible for “delivering an offensive data strategy and fostering relationships with universities to deliver applied academic research to business opportunities.” Clemence joins ITV from Depop and has previously held roles at Sainsburys and Net-A-Porter.

In addition, Mike Leverington joins in March as director of data experimentation from The Body Shop, while the role of director of data governance will be assumed by Kat Holmes, who joins from Travelex.

All roles will report into group chief data & AI officer Sanjeevan Bala, who has been named one of the most influential people in data by dataIQ. Sanjeevan joined in May 2020 as the business set about evolving and consolidating its data assets in line with its More than TV strategy.

“I am delighted to have secured such diverse, talented leaders to help drive ITV’s more than TV strategy,” Bala said.
