International Judo Federation names RR Media services provider of World Tour

RR Media has announced a partnership with the International Judo Federation (IJF) to become the main digital media services provider for all Judo championships.

RR Media has announced a partnership with the International Judo Federation (IJF) to become the main digital media services provider for all Judo championships, including the Grand Prix, Gland Slam and World Masters. This sees RR Media take footage from live events and digitally manage the content so that it can be accessed and delivered to international takers.

The IJF will use content for video footage, news bulletins, online video, broadcaster distribution and highlight programmes. Different international takers will also have the ability to access highlight footage of individual players as and when required.

The mass of video footage will be digitally stored with complete metadata added to it, enabling rights holders to access the video content using a simple search. Utilising RR Media’s self-developed, self-service digital media asset management platform will allow IJF and other content rights holders to access judo-specific video materials. Through this platform, RR Media delivers content efficiently to any taker, anywhere in the world.

Susanna Mandel-Montello, VP of RR Media’s sports and events, commented, “We’re very excited to be involved with the IJF for the long-term. Digitally storing video footage of athletes preserves the historic record and provides access to video on a scale never before seen for Judo. The IJF can now offer masses of judo content, which can then be used by any number of their media partners, expanding the reach and viewers of Judo to greater audiences worldwide.”
