Grass Valley finds Wright way to lead EMEA

Grass Valley has taken on Red Bee Media's former Chief Commercial Officer, Alan Wright, to lead its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region as Senior Vice President.

Grass Valley has taken on Red Bee Media’s former Chief Commercial Officer, Alan Wright, to lead its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region as Senior Vice President, writes David Fox.

“As we move forward with the key strategic initiative of transforming our organisation, and driving the development and growth of our business throughout the EMEA region, I’m pleased to welcome someone of Alan’s skill and knowledge,” said Jeff Rosica, Executive Vice President of Grass Valley (pictured). “Alan’s experience will greatly strengthen our activities and improve customer focus.”

Wright will be based in the UK, reporting directly to Rosica, and his appointment signals Grass Valley renewed support for new and existing EMEA customers. He will design and execute new strategies at Grass Valley that will help customers migrate to file-based environments with Grass Valley’s software, hardware and other products, as well as its integration and 24/7 managed services.

“I’m looking forward to helping clearly define the overall company strategy for this region and working with Grass Valley’s local teams to stimulate growth and sustain existing client relationships to benefit us all,” said Wright.

“I plan to use my background in technology and professional service companies to drive and motivate the company into new areas with advanced, forward-looking solutions that leverage Grass Valley’s technology strengths in software and services. This will lead to a higher level of customer satisfaction.”

At Red Bee Media, Wright was a member of the Executive leadership team, and was responsible for Sales & Marketing, Product Management, and was a key contributor in defining the overall company strategy.

Prior to Red Bee, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Sales & Marketing for a division of Technicolor. He also spent many years at Motorola where he led the Strategy and Sales & Marketing activities in the EMEA region for a variety of Motorola businesses. Prior to Motorola, he worked with system integrators and professional service companies.

He holds a Chemical Physics degree from the University of Glasgow, an MBA in Finance from Durham University, and a DBA from Henley Management College. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Institute of Engineering and Technology recently, in recognition of his contributions to delivering strategic change to the industry.
