The completion of Fujinon (Europe) GmbH’s entrance into Fujifilm Europe GmbH was announced on 27 July. With this merger, it is claimed, Fujifilm has a taken a major step towards the consolidation and integration of core business activities in Europe.
The announcement follows the news earlier in July that Fujifilm Corporation, Tokyo, had absorbed its wholly-owned direct subsidiary, Fujinon Corporation.
Before the merger, Fujinon (Europe) GmbH operated mainly in two market segments: Endoscopy Systems and Optical Devices. Within Fujifilm Europe the Endoscopy Systems unit is integrated into European Business Domain Medical Systems. It supplements the existing product portfolio and enables Fujifilm to offer an enhanced product range from the one source.
Meanwhile, the Optical Devices business has been established as a new European Business Domain within the Fujifilm Europe organisation.
