Formula 1 signs broadcast rights deal covering 19 European countries

Deal runs until 2020 and covers both FTA and pay-TV broadcasters

Formula 1 has signed a new broadcast rights deal with Advisers Media International, covering 19 territories across Europe.

The deal includes free-to-air and pay-TV broadcasters, with Formula One set to retain some digital rights in the territories.

The 19 countries included in the deal are Slovenia, Croatia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bosnia, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Ukraine.

Formula One has also agreed a three-season extension to its partnership with Saran Media, running from 2018 to 2020.

Under the deal, races will be broadcast on the S Sport Channel in Turkey, which is currently being carried by Digiturk, DSMART, Turkcell TV+ and Turk Telekom.

The agreement with Saran Media also includes FTA coverage of all 21 races of the 2018 season on AZ TV and Idman Azerbaijan channels in Azerbaijan
