You might not have time to make it to IBC… but please pencil in October 28 for TVBEurope’s Sports Broadcast Europe 2010 conference at BAFTA in London.

This event is specifically designed to bring sports broadcasting operations people together for one day in London, to talk about the big sports events of the summer and how they were covered and what was learned. Competition for audiences ensures that sports technology advances at breakneck place and there is no better forum to get ahead of the curve than at Sports Broadcast Europe.

Needless to say our team is still working on the content but we’re delighted to announce that Gabriel Fehervari, CEO of European leader Alfacam, will be one of our keynotes. Alfacam was responsible for several host broadcast facilities at the World Cup and will field no less than 19 trucks for the 2012 London Olympics. Fehervari will address what key technologies broadcasters should be investing in, and assesses the key dynamics of the sports facilities market.

Dan Miodownick, Production Department Director at HBS, was tasked with balancing the expectations of broadcast rights holders and FIFA with what was practical in terms of covering the World Cup 2010. Miodownick will review the key planning decisions in South Africa and will look ahead to the infrastructure template for Brazil 2014.

Have you ever seen the stunning Red Bull Air Race on TV? SIVision CEO Imre Sereg and Gearhouse Broadcast Technical Director Kevin Moorhouse will join us to explain what it takes to devise, build, manage and produce a broadcat solution that captures the full spectacle of the race planes.

Without Sony’s sponsorship the 3D World Cup production was unlikely to have been anything more than an experiment. The company committed to innovating new convergence automation technology and in proving its value at such a high-profile training ground, and the company’s Head of Sports Business Mark Grinyer will be on hand to review the World Cup experience and look to the 3D future.

More speakers and topics will be unveiled over the coming weeks – please keep in touch at www.sportsbroadcast2010.com, where you can also register for the event.
