EMS appoints Marco Tinnirello as new CEO

Will lead Eurovision Media Services, the business arm of the EBU

Eurovision Media Services (EMS), the business arm of the EBU, has appointed Marco Tinnirello as its new CEO.

Tinnirello has worked in the broadcasting service sector for over 20 years, most recently serving as managing director for Encompass Digital Media in the APAC and EMEA regions where he led teams in both Singapore and Europe. He replaces Graham Warren who retired from the EBU this month, and will join on 1st July.

Tinnirello started his career in media broadcast at Globecast UK where he led data services, corporate IT and the development of satellite data services. He also worked at Arqiva for over eight years in a number of leading operational, technical and commercial roles including head of sales for Digital Cinema where he increased the operational network size by 216 per cent.

“We are delighted that Marco is joining the organisation at such a critical time in its development,” said EBU director general Noel Curran. “I am convinced that, with his sound experience and remarkable track record of achievements, Marco is the right person to help grow and add value to our range of digital broadcast services and solutions for our clients and Member organisations.”

Marco Tinnirello added: “I am delighted to be joining EMS and look forward to working with a team and organisation that is so highly regarded in our industry. That excellent reputation is well earned and is a result of the talent within EBU and EMS successfully delivering high quality services for many years”.
