The new digital workflow at Chellomedia’s DMC in Amsterdam is the latest IT Broadcast Workflow case study to join TVBE’s November 30 conference at BAFTA.

The DMC speaker will be Rick Phelps, head of Quality & Reporting, assisted by Yuval Tori, VP Sales EMEA for Pilat Media – sponsoring company for this case study.

Chellomedia is the European content division of Liberty Global, Inc. and a major international media company and distributor of channels, content, and video services. Chellomedia’s Digital Media Centre (DMC) is one of Europe’s leading providers of channel playout services, TV distribution, and content delivery for new media applications.

The Amsterdam-based advanced digital media facility specialises in multilingual and multiplatform broadcasting in standard and high definition. The DMC currently transmits 63 channels across continental Europe, the UK, Middle East, Asia, and South Africa including National Geographic Television, E! Entertainment, MGM, History Channel, Extreme Sports Channel, Zone Reality, Playboy, and others.

The DMC is now in the process of automating its workflows with the goal of increasing efficiency, lowering operating costs and expanding into more service to gain new revenue streams.

The case study on November 30 will present: how Chellomedia moved to a digital workflow — the technologies and practices involved and the benefits that were realised; the steps Chellomedia is now taking to automate its digital workflow; the role of broadcast management at the DMC in offering its customers improved service and quality; and how the DMC has succeeded in streamlining the management of multi-lingual programming.

And the most recent speaker to be confirmed for the event is David Roulson, director, Broadcast MTP&O Engineering London for Discovery Communications Europe. Details on this presentation and more will be available within the next week.
