Deltatre acquires streaming company Massive Interactive

Deal is worth up to $127 million

Sports media technology company Deltatre has acquired OTT software company Massive Interactive.

The deal is worth up to $127 million, with a combination of cash and earn-out provisions.

Massive will operate as a division of Deltatre with the combined company employing almost 1,000 full-time staff and 18 offices worldwide.

The companies said they see the combination as coupling together Massive’s expertise in user experience (UX) with Deltatre’s video-streaming capabilities, speeding up time to market for the deployment of OTT services.

“Since the formation of Massive in 1996, we have demonstrated a proven track record of revolutionising the way the world consumes video entertainment,” said Ron Downey, Massive co-founder and CEO.

“Today we are pleased to announce this transaction, which strengthens Massive’s position as the leading provider of targeted user experience OTT video solutions and opens up new market opportunities together with Deltatre.”

Massive’s customers include BBC Worldwide, Bell Media, Channel 5, Telecine and Sony Pictures Television.
