DAZN is believed to have entered talks with pay-TV operator Sky Italia following a renegotiation of its deal with Telecom Italia

Sports streamer DAZN is reportedly in talks with Sky Italia to share the broadcast rights for Italian football league Serie A.

DAZN acquired the rights to the league in 2021 in a three year deal worth more than €2.5 billion. Before then, Sky had been the league’s home.

According to Bloomberg, DAZN has now entered talks with pay-TV operator Sky Italia following a renegotiation of its deal with Telecom Italia (TIM).

When DAZN first scored the rights, it also reached an agreement with with Telecom Italia to bring the streaming service to TIMVISION for the period of the rights deal.

However, according to the report the deal between DAZN and TIM failed to reach targets set by the telecoms company.

A final deal hasn’t yet been reached added the report, but an announcement could come as early as this week.
