Couto appointed SVP and GM of Synamedia’s Asia Pacific division

Former TiVo sales exec will take on responsibility for sales, marketing, partners and delivery throughout the region

Former Cisco Video software Unit Synamedia has appointed former TiVo sales exec Sue Couto as its senior vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific.

Couto, who has also held senior roles at Cisco and NDS, joins Synamedia’s executive team to drive growth and expand customer relationships across Asia Pacific.

She will have overall responsibility for sales, marketing, partners, and delivery in the region.

Synamedia’s chief executive Yves Padrines said that Couto’s twenty year’s of industry experience made her the perfect exec to lead the division and drive growth.

“Sue’s pay-TV industry prowess combined with her deep market knowledge and proven track record of driving transformation and growth in Asia Pacific, means she is well qualified to lead our team and support Synamedia’s business expansion plans in the region,” she said.

Cisco, like Ericsson sold off its video business to a private equity firm in May. Permira Funds bought the business – some of which it had owned previously through its NDS investment – and rebranded it Synamedia in September at IBC.
