CBS Sports Digital signs deal with Blackbird

The agreement will see Blackbird deployed within CBS Sports Digital infrastructure to provide "fast and efficient" cloud video production

Video editing platform specialist Blackbird has announced that it has signed a deal with CBS Sports Digital for cloud video production.

CBS Sports Digital, a division of ViacomCBS, will reportedly use Blackbird for “professional, collaborative and scalable cloud video editing and publishing of sports content”, with its editors able to access Blackbird through a web browser to edit live and file-based content.

In its announcement, Blackbird said that its platform will be deployed within CBS’ cloud infrastructure, which will “remove the need to travel to a facility and also eliminate the need to transit material to and from multiple local storage environments”.

Blackbird now works with a variety of brands in the sports, news, entertainment and enterprise sectors, including Tata Communications, EVS, BT, Univision, IMG, NHL, Eleven Sports, and Riot Games.
