How would you say the convergence between AV and broadcast has developed since ISE 2024?
Since ISE 2024, the convergence between AV and broadcast has significantly reshaped the market. This integration allows AV professionals to adopt more sophisticated production methods and tools, enhancing the quality and variety of their projects. The growing demand for high-quality, real-time content, made possible by advanced broadcasting technologies, is driving innovation and creating new business opportunities within the AV sector.
How far do you think that convergence can go?
The convergence between AV and broadcast can go very far, as it is being enabled by a wide range of rapidly growing technologies. This integration allows for immersive multi-sensory experiences that extend beyond the conventional live event and broadcast environment. The adoption of IP technology has also helped bridge the gap between AV and broadcast systems by offering a common, flexible, and cost-effective infrastructure.
What do you think brands can learn from broadcasters, and vice versa?
Brands can learn from broadcasters the importance of creating dynamic and visually compelling content to drive viewer engagement and expand their reach. Conversely, broadcasters can learn from brands how to target specific audiences with highly produced films for internal communications or marketing on platforms like YouTube. This mutual learning can lead to more effective communication and engagement strategies.

How are new technologies such as AI impacting the convergence between the two sectors?
AI is significantly impacting the convergence between AV and broadcast by enabling features like automated content recommendations, voice control, and image upscaling. These advancements are revolutionising the pro AV industry and enhancing the capabilities of AV equipment. AI’s integration into AV systems is driving innovation and creating new opportunities for content creation and distribution.
What do you hope attendees and exhibitors will take away from ISE 2025?
We hope that attendees and exhibitors will take away a deeper understanding of the latest trends and innovations in the AV and broadcast industries. We aim to provide a platform for networking, learning, and exploring new technologies that can drive their businesses forward. Most importantly, it’s about restoring connections and inspiring attendees for the year ahead. Our goal is to equip them with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in this rapidly evolving industry.
What piece of technology innovation in video has really stood out for you since the last ISE?
One standout technology innovation in video since the last ISE is the integration of holographic live streaming, which allows for real-time, interactive experiences. This technology has been used to create impactful and immersive events, such as live-streamed holographic award ceremonies, showcasing the potential of advanced broadcasting technology.
On a personal note, I have greatly benefited from being able to join events via live hologram over the past year – when I was unable to be in the same country. This is something I first experienced at ISE, with holographic versions of me on the show floor, and I have seen its use grow significantly since then. The ability to participate in events remotely, yet still interact in a highly engaging and immersive way, has been a game-changer for me and many others in the industry.
Please sum up this year’s ISE in three words.
Innovative, engaging, transformative
