Binaural episode of Doctor Who heads to iPlayer

Episode will include a 3D surround sound effect for viewers wearing headphones

The BBC is making a special “binaural” episode of Doctor Who available for fans on the iPlayer.

It will be the fourth episode in the current series of the show which is titled Knock Knock and features evil floor-creaking termites.

The special version of the episode will be made available on iPlayer after broadcast on BBC One. It will feature “a 3D surround sound effect for anyone wearing headphones, placing them at the heart of the action in this nail-biting episode.”

The BBC hasn’t said if viewers will get the same effect listening through surround-sound speakers.

The episode will be broadcast on BBC One on Saturday 6th May.
