beIN Sports acquires Bundesliga rights for France

New deal to cover Middle East, North Africa, Australia and France

Fresh from renewing a contract with Serie A that will see it continue to provide coverage of the leading Italian football league through to the 2017/18 season, beIN Media Group has now acquired the rights to air German Bundesliga games across key markets.

The five-year deal (two years in France), which begins this season, will see the Qatari operator’s beIN Sports air all 306 matches from the German premier football division for the Middle East, North Africa, France and Australia. Included in the deal are the digital distribution rights including mobile TV services.

The channel recently announced an agreement with TotalChannel, the Spanish online TV platform, to launch an OTT offering in Spain having already securing its presence on Vodafone TV, Orange TV, and Telecable.
