BBC Worldwide to launch official Strictly podcast

Weekly podcast will be funded by advertising

BBC Worldwide is launching the first ever Strictly Come Dancing Official Podcast to accompany the current 15th series of the show on BBC One.

The weekly podcast will be available for free every Monday morning and promises fans news as well as interviews with contestants, professional dancers, judges, experts, fans and those working behind the scenes.

It will be funded by advertising and will be distributed by technology platform Acast. It will be available on Apple Podcasts, the Acast app and website, and most other podcast apps, BBC Worldwide says there will be 13 episodes starting on Monday 25th September, running until Monday 18th December.

Helen O’Donnell, executive producer, BBC Worldwide said: “We’re always looking for ways of extending fans enjoyment of our shows and the official Strictly podcast will be a great companion to this year’s series, giving listeners a glittering backstage pass to their favourite show. We’re aware of how popular podcasts are and are delighted to be entering this growing market.”
