Lisa Opie has been named as the new genre director of factual for BBC Studios.
Opie, who is currently controller of business for factual and daytime, will report to Mark Lindsey, director of BBC Studios, as she leads the factual teams and manages production.
The factual division covers science, history, daytime, national history and arts and docs.
Lindsey said, “Factual is an enormously important area for BBC Studios and in Lisa we have the right leader to champion this part of our business.
“I’m consistently impressed by Lisa’s leadership style, clear decision making and immense energy and I know Lisa will give our creative teams the space and support to succeed.”
Before joining the BBC, Opie held the position of managing director at Two Four Digital.
She was also managing director of content at Channel 5, and managing director of Flextech Television.
