BBC First joins Dutch cable provider Caiwey

Channel, which launches on June 15th, will be available to Caiwey's 200,000 subscribers

The BBC’s premium drama channel, BBC First, will launch in the Netherlands on June 15th.

It will be carried by cable provider Caiwey, making the channel available to their 200,000 subscribers. It is already available in another 6.7 million households in the region and is one of the country’s top 20 most-watched channels.

The fully localised channel offers viewers a range of series such as Sherlock, Luther (pictured), Silent Witness, Death in Paradise and The Durrells.

Simon Cottle, distribution director Northern Europe, BBC Worldwide said,“We are proud to add Caiway as one of the providers of BBC First in The Netherlands after its proven success on other platforms in the region. It’s great to see Dutch audiences enjoying British drama, and by adding Caiway, we are able to offer unmissable series to even more households.”

BBC First is also available in Australia, Belgium, Hong Kong, North Africa, Malaysia, Middle East, Singapore and South Africa.
