BAFTA award winner Geffen to present Flying Monsters at 3D Masters

Atlantic Productions’ Anthony Geffen – a case study speaker at TVBEurope’s 3D upcoming 3D Masters conference at BAFTA – was on the winning team as Flying Monsters 3D for Sky 3D won the BAFTA for Best Special Factual programme at the 2011 Awards last Sunday.

The BAFTA went to Sir David Attenborough, Anthony Geffen, Sias Wilson and Sky 3D/Atlantic Production. Producer Anthony Geffen commented that Sir David had now won BAFTAs for programmes in black and white, colour, high definition and now 3D, and that that would never be equalled.

Flying Monsters 3D will be one of three short case study presentations to focus on the practicalities of a 3D production at the 3D Masters event. This will be followed by an opportunity to analyse the clips and explore what worked, what were the challenges faced and what tips can be shared with the audience. The other case studies lined up are Carmen 3D with Phil Streather, CEO, Principal Large Format; and Andy Millns, founder and director, Pointy Stick & Inition.

Leading presentations at 3D Masters will come from Chris Johns, chief engineer Broadcast Strategy at BSkyB; Vince Pace, co-chairman and CEO, Cameron-Pace Group (CPG); and Steve Schklair, chief executive officer, 3Ality Digital Systems.
