Aston 7 goes down a Storm for Nemeton TV

Production company, Nemeton Television, based in Waterford, Ireland, has installed a Brainstorm Aston 7 realtime 3D character generator for its sports coverage.

Production company, Nemeton Television, based in Waterford, Ireland, has installed a Brainstorm Aston 7 realtime 3D character generator for its sports coverage, writes David Fox.

The Aston 7 is designed for live TV productions, such as news, sports, business, and shopping, delivering 3D animated text and graphics, on-screen video clips, built-in support for live content feeds, and connectivity to external automation systems.

Brainstorm Multimedia’s UK reseller Storm Broadcast supplied the system, installed, configured, and loaded Nemeton’s project material; and subsequently tested all aspects of the Aston 7 prior to shipping. Nemeton is the largest independent producer of television hours in Ireland.

“Having previously used Aston 7 for our OB work it made it an easy choice to install Aston 7 in our new HD studio build,” said Nemeton Television’s Head of Sports, Maidhcí Ó Súilleabháin. “Storm Broadcast was very supportive in building and testing the system to our specification before delivery and provided excellent support during the extremely tight install and testing phase. We have been delighted with the ongoing reliability and smooth operation of the system and the follow through support.”

The system arrived about week before going live and was used to create graphics for its coverage of the Rugby World Championships. It has since been used for Heineken Cup rugby highlights, the international rules series between Ireland and Australia, and live coverage of the RaboDirect Pro 12 rugby competition.
