All3Media has announced the acquisition of drama production company New Pictures

All3Media has announced the acquisition of drama production company New Pictures.

The independent television, film and digital production and distribution company has reportedly spent in the region of £40 million to close the deal.

Since New Pictures was established by Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Willow Grylls and Richard Nelson, the team has enjoyed success with drama series The Missing and Indian Summers. Both dramas won huge acclaim from viewers and critics and are now in production on their second series. Two new thriller series, Rellik and Requiem, have been commissioned for BBC One in 2016/17.

Jane Turton, CEO, All3Media said, “I am absolutely delighted to be working with Charlie, Elaine, Willow and Richard as they develop and grow their slate of programmes through New Pictures. They are a fantastic team with a phenomenal track record and very exciting plans for the business.”

Prior to joining forces and founding New Pictures, the four executives have produced or commissioned thousands of hours of award-winning drama between them.

Charlie Pattinson, New Pictures, added, “This is a very exciting new phase for New Pictures. We have a long and successful history with All3Media, Jane Turton and her team and we are looking forward to working together even more closely to grow our slate both in the UK and internationally.”

All3Media, jointly owned by Discovery Communications and Liberty Global, is comprised of 21 production and distribution companies from across the UK, Europe, New Zealand and USA.
