The investment will see the engineering team double in size as the London-based AI-native studio pursues an ambitious growth strategy

Wonder Studios has announced a $12 million investment.

Launched in April 2025, the AI-native studio has undertaken a number of projects, including an AI-powered video for Lewis Capaldi’s Something in the Heavens and its first original production, Beyond the Loop, created with ElevenLabs, Freepik, Fal and Kling AI as executive producers.

Having generated “significant revenue” during its first six months, the company has raised $12 million in seed funding to scale its model for what it said was “a new era of entertainment production.”

Led by European venture capital firm, Atomico, alongside existing investors LocalGlobe and Blackbird. backing has also been secured from Adobe Ventures; former Vevo CEO and chairman of EveryoneTV, Erik Huggers; the Sidemen’s Upside Ventures and Stephen Lambert (owner and CEO, Studio Lambert); former CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network for Americas and EMEA, Nigel Morris; Mercuri and CEO of Freepik, Joaquín Cuenca Abela.

Xavier Collins, CEO and co-founder of Wonder Studios, commented, “Wonder is the entertainment studio for the new era. At the heart of our vision is combining Hollywood filmmaking excellence with AI-powered creative freedom, empowering both established directors and emerging creators to tell their most ambitious stories.”

Based around the Wonder app, the company connects AI-native creators, bringing collaborators and resources together in a curated community to drive creative storytelling and reach a global audience. The funding will be used to double the company’s engineering team and accelerate its strategic move into IP ownership and original content production.

Ben Blume, partner at Atomico, said, “Wonder captures the magic that happens when Hollywood artistry meets the power of AI, right when the industry is searching for a new model. Xavier and Justin have the rare combination of marketplace and community building experience, creative brilliance, and technical execution capability needed to create the entertainment studio for the next generation. Their incredible traction validates that the market is ready for their unique approach.”

Wonder Studios CCO and co-founder, Justin Hackney, said, “The next decade will define what creativity looks like in the age of AI. Our mission is to ensure that this future belongs to the storytellers. Working with leading studios, industry pioneers, and grassroots filmmakers, we’re already creating a bridge where technology and artistry grow together. This isn’t the end of creativity – it’s the beginning of a new creative renaissance.”

The team is working on a range of projects for release next year, including a documentary with Emmy Award-winning Campfire Studios.
