Top Gun: Maverick re-recording sound mixer updates studio with Core 59s

Mark Taylor recently chose to upgrade his post production studio at Shepperton Studios with Dynaudio’s flagship Core 59

Re-recdording sound mixer Mark Taylor, who won an Academy Award for his work on 1917, and whose credits also include Top Gun: Maverick, and The Martian, has updated his post production audio studio to include Core 59 monitors.

Having used Dynaudio Studio Monitors throughout his career, Taylor recently chose to upgrade his post production studio at Shepperton Studios with Dynaudio’s flagship Core 59.

“I currently have a small pre-mix setup, with a 24 fader Avid S6 and Mac Pro as main playback, and an iMac as picture/recorder rig,” Taylor said. “All of my monitors are Dynaudio.”

Taylor reached out to Martin Warr of Synthax Audio UK (Dynaudio PRO’s UK distributor) for a demo of the Dynaudio Core 59s when he decided to upgrade his studio.

“I spent a week A-Bing them with my BM15s and was sold, and I now have an amazing LCR Core 59 set up. They’re 3-ways which took a while to adjust to, but the clarity in the mid-range, and the solidity in the low end, are outstanding.”

Taylor is currently using the monitors for his work on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
