Solid State Logic introduces portable MADI and Dante audio interface for broadcasters

The interface can deliver 192 channels at both 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz

Solid State Logic (SSL) has launched UMD192, a portable USB audio interface designed to meet the demands of broadcast, professional live sound, and high-spec studio environments.

The interface can deliver 192 channels at both 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz, said the company, and can be integrated across MADI, Dante and USB protocols.

It delivers fully interoperable Dante AoIP with AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) support and ultra-low Dante latency, added SSL. With its six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can be configured in redundant mode, enabling three dual-redundant MADI connections to be provided for mission-critical broadcast and live workflows.

The UMD192 works with both Mac and Windows environments and is compatible with any DAW, said SSL.

Key features include:

  • 192 channels at 48/44.1 kHz, 192 channels at 96/88.2 kHz, and 128 channels at 192/176.4 kHz
  • USB 3.0 class-compliant interface
  • Mac OS compatible; Windows support via SSL driver
  • 6x MADI BNC pairs with redundant mode for 3x dual-redundant MADI connections
  • Fully interoperable Dante AoIP with AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) support
  • Ultra-low Dante latency—as low as 0.25ms
  • Flexible clocking from MADI or Dante
  • Rugged Ethernet ports (2x Primary, 2x Secondary) with Link & Activity LEDs
  • Included cables: USB-C to C, USB-A to C adapter, IEC power cable
