Newsroom control enhanced with nxtedition and TASCAM Ember+ integration

The integration aims to enhance real-time collaboration and a more cohesive production environment, even with geographically distributed teams

nxtedition and TASCAM have announced details of their integration with Ember+

The collaboration aims to provide broadcasters with enhanced operational control, enabling greater automation and modularity. Audio operations can be managed and automated from within the nxtedition platform with TASCAM’s Sonicview digital mixers providing studio-level precision. Each mixer channel can be independently controlled and dynamically synchronised with video sources including live feeds, servers or microphones across  multiple studios, eliminating the need to switch platforms or interrupt live workflows, said the companies.

Sonicview firmware V2.0.0 embeds native Ember+ support into TASCAM hardware, enabling real-time interoperability between the systems. Leveraging nxtedition’s support for Ember+, the need for middleware or external translation layers is eliminated.

Chris Wright, TASCAM VP of business development EMEA, said, “Bringing Sonicview into the Ember+ ecosystem was a key step in our commitment to open standards. It empowers broadcasters to simplify their control room setup, centralise their workflows, and maintain top-tier audio quality across live, hybrid, or remote productions.”

The first deployment of the integration was completed at AnewZ, a Baku-based English language news channel, allowing producers and technicians to control audio and video sources from a single interface, providing a consistent on-air sound signature and reducing errors. The architecture is underpinning a second deployment, currently underway at a new TV channel in Dubai.
