If you’ve ever wanted to listen to a Netflix production without watching it, then the streamer has the answer.
It’s testing an audio-only option on its Android app that lets users disable video and listen to the audio of a TV show or film in the background.
Subscribers toggle to audio-only mode by selecting a “Video Off” button in the Netflix playback screen. They have to opt-in to the feature every time they want to use it.
Netflix said the option is only being tested with certain users, stating they only make tests such as this broadly available if people find them useful.
Earlier this year it tested a new “Shuffle Play” button that allows viewers to watch TV and films randomly selected by the streaming service; and launched a linear option for subscribers in France.
