Digital Domain and AWS scale up virtual human growth

The collaboration aims to propel the evolution and global reach of Digital Domain's AVH technology, expanding the use of virtual humans across a wide usage base

Digital Domain has announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The partnership aims to leverage AWS’s cloud infrastructure along with its generative AI and machine learning (ML) services to advance the evolution and reach of Digital Domain’s Autonomous Virtual Human (AVH) technology.

In 2022, Digital Domain introduced Zoey, its virtual human solution. The new collaboration will utilise AWS’s cloud services, notably Amazon Bedrock, to enhance the capabilities of AVH technology in real-time. Voice outputs will be enhanced with Amazon Polly and the company is considering using Amazon’s Rekognition for facial recognition and video-based services.

AWS will safeguard Digital Domain’s data through its security and compliance features, reinforcing the integrity and scalability of the AVH platform, said the company.

Working with consulting firm, Slalom, Digital Domain has been able to transition all AVH workloads to AWS in a nine month period, scaling the technology to meet growing global demand for AI-powered customer interaction services.

By migrating to the cloud, Digital Domain is aiming to offer improved speed, reliability and cost efficiencies to its users, allowing digital humans to be integrated into their operations.

Daniel Seah, CEO of Digital Domain, said, “This collaboration with AWS marks a significant milestone for Digital Domain and our ambitions in virtual human technology. By migrating our Autonomous Virtual Human technology to the cloud, we are not only enhancing its scalability and performance but also expanding its accessibility to a global audience.”
