Cloud-based video creation platform Wochit has been selected by Viacom International Media Networks to power its social video strategy across eight markets.

The platform will be implemented in Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The two companies say the deal will give VIMN's brands and editorial teams greater ability to rapidly produce engaging content optimised for distribution on social and owned-and-operated properties.

Teams from all of the Viacom properties such as MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central will be able to share, view and edit content created by journalists and video teams in any part of the network, all from a single dashboard.

Wochit says the platform also supports automatic rebranding of videos, which "further speeds production, and offers greater insight into performance through real-time monitoring capabilities and rich data reporting."

“Social video is a critical part of our networks’ audience-building and engagement strategies, and Wochit is an ideal partner that will help us to provide the quantity and quality of content that our fans want,” said Jorge Conde Benito, vice president of multiplatform, strategy and business development for VIMN’s Southern and Western Europe, Middle East and Africa cluster. “We are confident that their robust toolset and knowledgeable team will help us to address the nuances of each platform, and with the added insights, we can truly maximise performance.”

“Viacom has embraced social video wholeheartedly, and we are incredibly proud to play a role in the success of their content strategy,” added Dror Ginzberg, co-founder and CEO of Wochit. “We’re confident that video managers and creators from the amazing roster of brands will enjoy the smooth workflows and ability to collaborate more readily, and we look forward to growing our partnership in the future.”
