Workflow Innovation Group to discuss data security

The Workflow Innovation Group (WIG) will host an event in October to discuss data security for broadcasters and production companies.

With today’s news that HBO’s social media accounts have been hacked, security is an on-going issue within the industry.

WIG’s event on 4th October will focus on how media companies are handling data security to ensure the best protection possible. The discussion will be led by a variety of media companies, including global broadcasters, content creators, and telecoms providers, such as NBC Universal and BT.

“With a large amount of media content often kept in poorly protected media libraries, media production companies are particularly susceptible to cyber attacks,” commented Jon Morgan, CTO, Object Matrix. “This event is about media companies sharing their experiences and methods to help each other improve data security.”

“Data security is an ongoing key concern for many media companies, especially now. This event promises to provide practical insights into how the media industry can protect their lifeblood of content, metadata and audience insights,” commented Steve Sharman, director, Hackthorn Innovation and founder of WIG.

Founded in 2010, the Workflow Innovation Group (WIG) is dedicated to developing, enhancing and improving rich media workflows in broadcast, advertising, post-production or any other enterprise that ingests, processes or archives rich media content on a daily basis.

More details about the event can be found at Object Matrix’s website.
