John Ive kicks off the afternoon with an interactive panel discussion: Broadcasting in the software-defined age

The session explored how to leverage the convergence of IT & Broadcast to build a future proofed virtualised video delivery roadmap, and discussed what lessons broadcasters can learn from telcos who have already adopted SDN in their networks.

It looked at utilising SDN to enable the gradual transition of SDI baseband infrastructure to entirely-IP for real time and non-real time workflow and signals, as well as interoperability, investment, and IPTV.

Ive was joined by:

Bogdan Frusina, founder and CEO, Dejero

George Boath, vice president of international sales, Telestream

Mark Wilson-Dunn, vice president, BT Media and Broadcast

Ali Shah, Technical Group member, DPP

Sylvain Thevenot, managing director, Netgem
