Ventuz is a game changer for Cliparts.TV

Munich-based Cliparts.TV is moving its interactive game shows to realtime 3D graphics software from Ventuz, writes David Fox.

The production company is one of Germany’s leading providers of technical and graphic systems for interactive game shows, exhibitions and events. For more than 20 years Cliparts.TV has been involved in such programs as Schlag den Raab (for PRO 7), The Voice of Germany (PRO 7), Starquiz (ARD), Frag doch mal die Maus (ARD – pictured top) and Tigerentenclub (ARD/KIKa –below left), but it was unsatisfied with its realtime graphics systems, which is why it turned to Ventuz.

“In many ways we have been unhappy with the video system we have been using so far,” explained its CEO, Andreas Heinrich. “We have been testing several other solutions during the last months. Ventuz really won us over. The flexibility and stability of this software are exactly what we need to produce state-of-the-art shows, since we put great emphasis on interactivity and the right look and feel for HDTV.”

Ventuz has been widely used worldwide for game-show graphics and control. Among the productions that use its software are Who wants to be a Millionaire?, the BBC production 101 Ways to leave a Gameshow and Channel 4’s Million Pound Drop.

“We are happy and a little proud that Cliparts.TV has chosen Ventuz,” said Joachim Sturmes, Managing Director of Ventuz Technology. “We now have the chance to prove the capabilities of Ventuz together with one of the most creative players in this market.”

The two companies intend establishing close cooperation, with the first projects using Ventuz planned for this month. All productions will transition to Ventuz during the year.
