Tata Elxsi has announced the successful interoperability of its HEVC decoder with streams encoded using Harmonic encoding technology. With the technology, Tata Elxsi aims to provide a complete solution for customers deploying HEVC Ultra HD solutions.

Tata Elxsi’s licensable Ultra HD HEVC decoders are available on multiple platforms, including Intel x86 processors and multicore ARM (smartphones/tablets) as well as hard semiconductor IPs.

This pre-confirmed interoperability between the various IP/products of both companies aims to cut down the time for customers looking to adopt HEVC. With the availability of a fully tested HEVC solution, Tata Elxsi promise a seamless integration with guaranteed performance on multiple platforms.

Commenting on the interoperability partnership, Shyam Ananthnarayan, head of  marketing, embedded product design, said, “Providing tested Ultra HD solutions to our customers forms an important aspect in helping them drive value faster in adoption of multiscreen video.”

The company plans to showcase newer versions of its HEVC solution at next week’s NAB in Las Vegas.
