Swain to leave BBC

Former BBC factual commissioner Emma Swain is leaving the corporation after 20 years.

The departure follows a year-long break from Swain’s previous role as she took over the temporary position of director for future commissioning for channels and online.

The move was announced by director of content Charlotte Moore, stating that Swain had ”decided to leave the BBC to take up new challenges.”

Moore said, ““Her sound editorial judgement, combined with her sharp strategic mind means she will be a real loss to the BBC.

“I will miss her greatly and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Emma for everything she has contributed to the BBC.

“She has been a valued member of Television’s senior team and a much respected leader and colleague and I wish her all the very best for what I know will be an exciting new stage of her career.”

Swain’s credits include Lambing Live, Our War, Don’t Tell the Bride, Star Gazing, The Great British Bake Off and Life Story.
