Sony to showcase 4K broadcasting

BVE 2013 will provide the backdrop to the first UK public showing of Sony’s full F-series large sensor camera line-up, comprising the PMW-F3, NEX-FS700, new cameras PMW-F5 and PMW-F55, and F65 4K digital cameras. The show will also see the debut of Sony’s PVM-X300, a 30-inch 4096 x 2160 resolution LCD monitor for support of 4K monitoring in the field. “2012 was a landmark year for Sony’s 4K technology; we now have a camera and proven workflow suitable for a huge range of applications and budgets,” said David Cheesman, sales manager North for Sony’s media products. “At BVE, customers will be able to see for themselves the 4K products set to transform the future of the broadcast and production industries in 2013 and beyond. We welcome people to come and feel the beauty of 4K first-hand.” The PVM-X300 professional monitor incorporates a RGB 10 bit panel, uniformity control and can accurately display industry standard colour space of ITU-R BT.709. Moreover, the PVM-X300 features IPS (In Plane Switching) technology for a wider viewing angle. A wide array of interfaces makes the PVM-X300 able to connect to almost any 4K imaging equipment and support various display modes. Other convenient functions include Auto White Adjustment, a Camera Assist Function and Stereo Audio. BVE 2013 will also see Sony exhibit the full breadth of its production tools including the large sensor NEX-EA50EH and NEX-FS700E, as well as the handheld XDCAM 422 range – comprising the PMW-100, PMW-150 and PMW-200.C38
