SMPTE emerging technologies forum to feature Grass Valley CEO26 January 2012
Alain Andreoli (pictured) will join a distinguished panel of industry figures to discuss the future of acquisition, production, post-production and distribution technologies at the SMPTE Forum on Emerging Media Technologies.
The executive-level symposium – which is being produced in collaboration with the EBU – will take place in Geneva from 13-15 May. Early bird registration for the event ends next Tuesday (31 January).
Andreoli will be part of the Forum panel entitled ‘More Than Clouds On The Horizon’, in which industry leaders will discuss their companies’ vision for content production and delivery against the backdrop of rapidly evolving media and entertainment industry drivers, including IT-based production and cloud deployments.
“Grass Valley is a long-time technology leader within the media and entertainment industries and has a deep understanding of what companies in those sectors need to succeed for the long term. We are thrilled to have Alain share those insights at The SMPTE Forum,” said David Wood of the EBU and the chair of the symposium’s programme committee.
The SMPTE has also announced the involvement of Martin Guillaume, the IBC Global Business Services leader for media in the UK and Ireland. Participating in forum panel session ‘Show Me Where the Money Is’, Guillaume will discuss how analytical tools can enable the media companies of the future to understand, predict, and act upon changes in consumer behaviour.
Employed by IBM in 2007, Guillaume has also served as CTO in a Goldman Sachs-owned private equity firm focused on technology investments, and managed the enterprise-wide royalty management system at Sony Music Entertainment.
“Martin’s experience across enterprise-class media organisations and his focus on driving bottom-line benefits to his clients through innovation and technology-enabled transformation make him an outstanding choice for The Forum and we are delighted to have him participate,” said Wood.
Other executive presenters at The SMPTE Forum are drawn from ABC Australia, ATSC, BSkyB, EBU, Ericsson, the Fraunhofer Institute IIS, IBM, Intel, NHK, Radio Bremen, Radio Television Hong Kong, Screen Digest, Sony, Sports Video Group, Warner Bros. and zeebox.
