SGL to showcase FlashNet interface at Broadcast Asia5 June 2013
SGL, provider of content archive and storage management software, will show its web-based interface for its FlashNet archive system for the first time at Broadcast Asia 2013. Users of FlashNet now have a number of additional features that further simplify workflow procedures and enhance usability of the system.
Using SGL FlashNet, broadcasters and content owners can now archive and restore material for workflows that fall outside the sphere of large controlling MAM or automation systems. The user can archive directly to any configured FlashNet disk or tape group, and once in the archive, metadata can be extracted or added manually. The interface can be used on Windows, PC, Mac or Linux.
At Broadcast Asia, SGL will also demonstrate FlashBrowse, its client-based web tool. FlashBrowse provides at-archive browse creation, automatically generating browse resolution copies of clips as the high resolution versions are archived. The Flashbrowse interface, which is an extension of the new FlashNet GUI, allows operators to instigate restores or partial file restores directly from their browse window.
Donald Li, SGL’s regional sales director APAC (pictured), said, “Asia is a key territory for SGL and we’re delighted to be exhibiting at this year’s show. Come and visit us on the booth and see why customers in the region are choosing SGL to meet their content management needs.”
