SGL shows off archive workflows at NAB21 April 2014
SGL, provider of archive and storage management software, demoed several of its archive solutions at NAB in Las Vegas, including a direct-to-acquisition-to-archive LTFS workflow.
SGL captured material at its NAB booth with a Go-Pro camera for its ingest-to-archive workflow using FOR-A’s LTR Series, LTO-5 Video Archiving Recorder. The combined FOR-A and SGL offering enables customers to archive material recorded on the LTR, directly to LTO5 tape. Once in the SGL FlashNet archive, the material is available for use via FlashWeb, SGL’s user interface.
SGL also held a full archive demonstration via the Avid Interplay PAM and demonstrations via Avid web services. Since 2004, SGL and Avid have co-developed archive content storage management solutions for broadcasters using Avid solutions. SGL’s Avid Interplay Archive is the only fully integrated archive and storage management component for the Avid Interplay digital workflow engine.
In addition to the Avid PAM demonstration, SGL showed the integration of FlashNet with Avid Interplay Web Services, geared toward smaller work groups that may require a paired down version. SGL’s support for Avid Web Services means customers can continue to use their current archive capabilities but can employ Avid Integrated Archive in the future without the need to re-archive any content.
SGL highlighted its support for MOS, used to integrate and link NRCS’ with broadcast equipment, Sony ODA integration, HP archive library control, Marquis Project Parking integration and EVS Fast turnaround Sports workflow.
