SGL adds notification service13 August 2013
IBC2013 will mark the European debut of a new notification service for SGL’s FlashNet content management system.
This allows users of the LTFS-supported FlashNet to automatically push details about the archived material to a MAM system. The separate elements of an amalgamated archive can still be identified and retrieved, and the addition of the SGL notification service means that users can subscribe to messaging about processes, material and hardware.
“SGL has supported LTFS since its launch,” said Travor Morecraft, sales, EMEA for SGL. “By continuing our development with LTFS we’re delighted to launch the Notification Service… and demonstrate the process of automatic information sharing from the archive to the MAM system.”
During IBC, SGL will also demonstrate its FlashBrowse a web-based archive management application, which can be configured to provide at-archive browse creation, automatically generating proxy resolution copies of clips as the high resolution versions are archived. The FlashBrowse interface can be used to instigate restores or partial file restores directly from the desktop.
