Scrub supplies BBC TV Centre4 December 2009
As part of its facelift for Television Centre, the BBC has invested in a number of new Pro Tools-equipped audio control consoles from Scrub.
HHB subsidiary Scrub has supplied new 16- and 32-fader Icon D-Control consoles to BBC Studios and Post Production, both of which are seeing their facilities upgraded. As part of an ongoing drive to meet customer demand, there has been a standardisation of Scrub’s audio post equipment on to the Pro Tools platform.
Sound Team Leader, Edurne Bengoa, explains this shift is important. “Pro Tools is the industry standard, and it’s essential we can move projects easily between our own engineers and theatres, and work on sessions that may have been started externally. The BBC has three dubbing theatres and two track laying rooms at Television Centre, two dubbing theatres at White City, and two dubbing theatres dedicated to Eastenders at Elstree. Almost all are now entirely Pro Tools-equipped.”
Speaking on behalf of Scrub, the Soho-based division of HHB which specialises in the supply of audio technology for post, Sales Manager, Tina Wallace, said: “Pro Tools and Icon will allow the seamless transfer of sessions in and out of the Television Centre post production operation, as well as between rooms.”
