Scandinavian broadcasters chose Tedial for Nordif3 consortium

Scandinavia’s Nordif3 consortium has received Tedial’s Media Amigo cloud exchange platform for the interchange of content. Norwegian systems integrator Mediateket is carrying out the installation, in which Tedial is the sole vendor. By using Media Amigo, which will be hosted by NRK at its site in Oslo, the Nordif3 consortium will have a full file-based exchange platform for instant uploading, sharing and reviewing of material. The consortium is made up of the region’s five national broadcasters: Norsk Rikskringkasting (NRK), Danmarks Radio (DR), Yleisradio (YLE), Ríkisútvarpið (RUV) and Sveriges Television AB (SVT), from Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden respectively. The Nordif3 project will include an end-to-end Tedial solution that allows the consortium to share material across their respective sites. Each broadcaster simply subscribes to specific content types or relevant media groups, then once video and non-video files become available they are automatically delivered to subscribers. Mediateket Partner, Jørgen Scheel explained, “This project is a major milestone for both Tedial and Mediateket as it provides a strong presence across the five Nordic countries. Initially the consortium thought that a media exchange solution didn’t exist and the project would require new technology. However, the proven Tedial workflow met all of the member requirements and was selected by the broadcasters’ consortium.” The installation, which will be completed in August, also includes Tedial’s Tarsys MAM and HSM systems, providing each broadcaster with a local gateway to enable upload and download of material. Web access provides convenient browse, search, edit and review capabilities. The generic toolset within Tedial’s Tarsys MAM system means that the reporting element usually reserved for rights management can be used to monitor content shared.  Rafael Dubois (pictured), Tedial’s sales and marketing director adds, “We’re delighted to have been chosen by the NORDIF3 consortium following a rigorous selection process. This is another major media exchange project for Tedial. Last year we installed a cloud-based service for FORTA, Spain’s Federation of Spanish Regional Television Channels. Both these sites provide an excellent reference for other national and regional broadcasters looking to adopt a file-based solution that enables them to share content.” www.tedial.com
