Pebble Beach shows dynamic graphics

Pebble Beach System’s new 64-bit automation system, Marina, will be demonstrated at IBC in Hall 8, with its Dynamic Channel Brander being shown for the first time.

The company claimed that the configurable tool safeguards the integrity of channel information graphics for broadcasters who have to deal with late breaking changes. Immediately prior to the graphic going to air, the Dynamic Channel Brander tool has the ability to dynamically source data from multiple playlists at the same time, extracting the most up to date programme information. Configurable templates are then populated with accurate start times, titles, preview clips and images as required, so that last minute schedule changes can be displayed without the need to manually generate new graphics.

This new option works with the full range of graphics devices that are already supported in Marina, including Vizrt, Miranda, Chyron, Pixelpower, Orad and RT Software. Marina also offers comprehensive support for a range of EVS servers and architectures, full API control of Omneon servers using the new 64bit Omneon Player API, and web services API integration with Avid’s Interplay MAM.

Visitors to the Hall 8 stand will also see Marina controlling Pebble Beach Systems’ channel in a box solution, Dolphin. This flexible integrated channel device supports a wide range of compression and file formats, with the ability to mix these formats on the same timeline. Pebble Beach Systems is also demonstrating how Dolphin’s pluggable architecture gives the end user access to a comprehensive range of third party graphics and subtitling options to meet the needs of different channel types. The company is also announcing some key advances both in Dolphin’s effects capabilities and previewing functionality at the show. – Michael Burns
