NOAH unveils industry first at IBC2013

September’s IBC will see NOAH Broadcast Solutions present NOAH, which it claims is the world’s first fully IT-based live production system. The new technology has been selected as a finalist for the IABM Design and Innovation Awards 2013, and been identified by judges as one of the top 10 most innovative products for design.

NOAH’s video processing delivers workflow for both studio-based and remote live broadcast operations. Uncompressed high-resolution live content can be shared between NOAH modules via high-speed IT networking technologies, integrating multiple studios in different locations. Its open architecture uses off-the-shelf graphics cards (GPUs), and features integrated multiviewers.

The NOAH interface can be tailored to accommodate the number of input signals and layers required, and can be extended by adding additional modules. Users can run several systems in parallel, and the solution also has built-in redundancy, should a module fail. The NOAH approach reduces CAPEX/OPEX and allows for support and upgrade.

At next month’s IBC, NOAH will demonstrate live production, between the Amsterdam showfloor and a remote studio in Frankfurt.
