Broadcast Solutions has delivered a FlyDrive-Concept vehicle to Spain's
International Sports Broadcasting that can be used as a production vehicle or have the equipment quickly stripped out for use in a less temporary set up, writes David Fox.
It has a modular design that includes built-in flight cases in the 3.5-tonne production vehicle,
based on an Opel Movano, which can cope with a complete six-camera TV production.
The entire audio-visual equipment is installed in two flight cases, which are docked into the vehicle.
The monitors and mixers are also flexibly installed. All the equipment can be assembled outside of the van in less than an
hour if users need a complete production control environment in a building, for example.
The vehicle also carries a fully redundant ProSat Solutions DA120 antenna system with all the necessary equipment to perform as an HD-SNG uplink.
An 8kVA underfloor generator is installed in the support vehicle, to supply the power for the production.
The support vehicle offers enough space for equipment and to transport seven people, a pre-wired workplace gives flexibility for editing or bigger productions.
